Raised by small business owners, this husband-and-wife mortgage team brings a grounded, hands-on perspective to everything they do. Jodi grew up around her family’s print shop, while Eric’s parents ran an excavating business and an accounting practice—experiences that shaped their shared appreciation for hard work, service, and accountability.

Eric and Jodi met on the rowing team at Humboldt State University and made their way back to Kalamazoo in 2002, where Eric’s mortgage career began. By 2005, Jodi had entered the banking industry, and in 2016, they officially joined forces as a husband-and-wife team. Together, they approach lending the same way they would run a small business: with care, transparency, and a deep respect for the people they serve.

They take great pride in the level of service they provide to both their customers and the real estate community, focusing on clear communication and thoughtful problem-solving. Eric’s background in management—beginning in 2005 with HSBC’s subprime division—helped him develop the skills and experience needed to navigate complex loan scenarios that others may shy away from.

Outside of work, family is at the center of their lives. They have two children, Ava and Grant, who will both be students at Western Michigan University this fall, along with two French Bulldogs, Dexter and Nali. Their commitment to family, community, and service carries through every part of their work at Stockton Mortgage.
